About the artist
Painting plein air for years has helped me develop a natural sense of color, composition and the excitement that I derive from painting directly from life. Whether painting still life or abstracts, I try to react emotionally to what I am observing, while trusting my knowledge and my hand. This state of mind allows the paint to lead me naturally from realism to abstraction and ultimately to the true essence of things. I find a mystery in deep observation of meaningful and ordinary objects.
