About the artist
Scott Moore grew up outside of Washington, D.C. His parents were both artists: his mother was a fashion illustrator and his father an exhibit designer. The family moved to coastal Maine in the 1960's. Moore moved back to Washington, D.C. after college, but returned to Maine in the early 1980's. He taught plein-air pastel at the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Maine and served as a consulting artist for Maine's Percent For Art program. He is an avid cross-country skier and canoeist, and currently lives in a nineteenth century farmhouse overlooking Penobscot Bay with his wife and daughter.
