Robert Douglas Hunter is a New England artist who paints in the Boston School tradition. He is able to capture the cold, smooth surface of a copper pot as easily as he paints a buttery, soft petal of a flower. His formal compositions with their subdued pallet evoke a sense of elegance and dignity.
