About the artist
Matt Brown began work with color woodblock printing in 1993. His technique uses the traditional Japanese hanga method from multiple carved blocks, one for each color. Water, rice paste, sumi ink and pure pigments are his printing materials. Brushes and a hand-held baren are his printing tools.
