Jeanne Rosier Smith
About the artist
Best known for her seascapes, Jeanne Rosier Smith enjoys painting the local New England landscape in all seasons. It is the light—falling on snow, filtering through trees, or lighting up that crest of a wave that creates the magic in her paintings. Smith is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, the American Society of Marine Artists, a Copley Society Master Artist, and an artist member of the Salmagundi Club. She has demonstrated at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and shown work at the National Arts Club and museums around the country. Her work has garnered top awards, and has placed in the Pastel Journal’s Pastel 100 for the past six years, including first place in 2017 and 2019. Her work has appeared many magazines and she is a regular contributor to the Pastel Journal. Her paintings are in collections on six continents.
