About the artist
My favorite family outing while growing up involved piling in the old station wagon and picking up Chuck Wagon burgers on London Road. From there we drove a few miles to Brighton Beach to picnic, skip rocks into Lake Superior and watch the sunset. Nature was at my fingertips to study and enjoy.
After completing my Master of Fine Arts Degree at Eastern Michigan University my painting returned to the subject of nature, often indicating the passage of time through worn textures or the pull of gravity. I wanted to work with gentle expression.
My wish is for the viewer to be transported to a dreamlike recollection of having been there. Although my work is abstract it has an elusive sense of place. It straddles the line between real and imagined dreams of nature.
